Meet the Team

We’re more than guides—we’re locals, climbers, and outdoor enthusiasts who care deeply about this place and the people we share it with. From helping you clip in for your first via ferrata to cheering you on at the top, we’re here to make your adventure safe, meaningful, and seriously fun.

  • Stephen Fredericks

HEAD GUIDE, ROCK & VIA FERRATA
    All-terrain Adventure Creative

Stephen brings years of guiding experience from Joshua Tree to the high desert of Utah. As the founder of Summit Climbing Guides and a PCGI Lead Guide, he’s worked with climbers of all levels—guiding everything from technical rock routes to creative “adventure lines” that mix hiking, scrambling, and summit views. He’s passionate about helping guests find both challenge and joy on the wall, and his calm, thoughtful approach puts people at ease—especially first-timers. When he’s not guiding, you’ll find him exploring hidden corridors, writing his next route, or playing guitar under the stars.

  • Angela Averett

    VIA FERRATA GUIDE
    Adventure Mentor Extraordinaire

Angela brings a lifetime of outdoor experience and a deep passion for helping people—especially young women—build confidence through movement and challenge. A conservation biologist by training and a coach, mentor, and mother by nature, she’s led everything from backpacking trips to rappelling camps to ropes courses and girl-powered mountain bike rides. Her calm presence, creative spirit, and steady leadership make her a natural fit for the Dyno team. Whether on the wall or on the trail, Angela’s goal is simple: help others feel brave, connected, and capable.

  • Jasmynn Lawson

    VIA FERRATA GUIDE
    Builder of Brave Spaces

With a background in outdoor education, mental health & addiction recovery, and program development, Jasmynn brings a rare mix of heart and grit to the Dyno team. As a former Climbing Coordinator for the Uintah Special Service District, she helped revive a neglected program—setting routes, training teams, and building a climbing community from the ground up. Jasmynn is passionate about creating spaces where people can push their limits, connect deeply, and feel seen. Whether she’s guiding on the wall or mentoring off it, her presence is calm, steady, and quietly powerful.

  • Jolynn Christensen

    VIA FERRATA GUIDE
    Rope-Rescue Cowgirl

Raised in the Uintah Basin with one hand on the reins and the other on a climbing rope, Jolynn blends her lifelong grit as a cowgirl with over a decade of experience on the wall. She’s a seasoned climber, leatherworker, and high-angle rescue technician with Uintah County Search & Rescue, where she trains and responds as part of the rope team. Whether leading on rock or mentoring kids in softball and community programs, Jolynn shows up with courage, care, and a get-it-done attitude. She’s known for her steady presence and for being a person you can trust to ride—or climb—with.

  • Amber Toler

    CO-FOUNDER, VIA FERRATA GUIDE
    Local Instigator of Adventure

Upon moving to Vernal in 2015, Amber began exploring the wild corners of Uintah County and never really stopped. As a climber, community advocate, and major driving force behind Vernal's vertical trails scene, she founded Dyno Outfitters and Dyno Rock Gym to help others experience the magic of this place. When she’s not guiding, you’ll find her working behind the scenes, giving back to the community, hanging out with her kids, or dreaming about her next big project (both on and off the wall).

  • Adam Toler

    CO-FOUNDER
    Chief Encouragement Officer

While he jokes that he’s “not a climber,” Adam is always up for pulling plastic in the rock gym or clipping in on a via ferrata. As Amber’s biggest supporter, Adam plays a quiet but essential role in Dyno Outfitters. When he’s not outdoors or helping with shop & family logistics, Adam works full-time as the Head Electrician for SM Energy—bringing a sharp eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and a whole lot of sponsorship support to the table. His unwavering support and behind-the-scenes efforts have helped turn this dream into reality.

  • Logan Tyler

CO-FOUNDER, ROCK & VIA FERRATA GUIDE
    Guide Whisperer & Logistics Legend

Logan grew up in the rugged San Juans of Ouray, Colorado, and started climbing before he could drive—he's been chasing vertical ever since. With a background that includes managing the Ouray Ice Park, building the Gold Mountain Via Ferrata, and founding Basecamp Ouray, Logan brings a wealth of experience (and a whole ‘lotta stoke) to Dyno Outfitters. From sport climbs to dry tooling comps, he’s done it all—but what he loves most is helping others push their limits and fall in love with climbing.
